I've now several books published and sales are taking off. Thank you, all of you who have bought a copy of one or more of my books.

They are also available as audiobooks. This is my personal favourite. I can listen anywhere, anytime in private, without anyone looking over my shoulder or reading the book cover or worse the text inside.

I was travelling into London by bus on one occasion and engrossed in my book. I was flicking the pages over in my own time when the guy sitting next to me muttered "Just a second". I looked up at him and he continued "good isn't it. But you read faster than me. Hang on a second". Luckily my stop was coming up soon, so I did wait and turned the page when he said. I had to bite my lip to stop myself from getting angry. Now I only read a book or paper if I'm sitting alone. But mainly I listen to audiobooks or the radio on my mobile.

Driving every day long distances was my life-style and I listened to a whole spectrum of different genre, most fictional but some biographies. These books saved me from boredom and entertained me. Since then I've been a strong advocate of listening.

Hit and Run No Escape

Hi My Lovely Readers and Listeners

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! The stories I started writing in December are beginning to seep through onto Amazon, Audiobooks and Kindle. It is so rewarding to see sales in the first few days of publication.

Now for my new book Hit and Run  No Escape which I both wrote and narrated. I hope you like my narration as much as I enjoy reading. When it's my own book I feel see the characters and speak from their hearts and minds. 

Here are the opening words to get you thinking. Enjoy:

Jack felt the crunch as if it was him . . . but it wasn’t. He ran across the road to see what had happened as a white van speed off, a white van with one red rear door , like it was a replacement, but he didn’t get the number,  it had gone too fast. He saw a girl laying there, her body in a distressed position, legs askew, blood trickling down her face. She looked in a bad way.

   Jack fumbled in his pocket and found his mobile. Dialling 999 he looked around for help. But there was none, and the driver and his van had disappeared. It was 9 at night and heavy rain splashed into the gutter. Jack was on his way home after a busy day and could do without this.

   “Ambulance please” he spoke abruptly into the phone. “A girl, run over, looks bad, bleeding heavily. Just in Stephenson Lane. You can’t miss us. Please hurry she looks in a bad way.”

   “Yes. She is breathing and I’m trying to stop the bleeding but I don’t really know what to do. It’s pouring with rain and I’ve got nothing to cover her with except for my jacket and that’s not protecting her.” His words trailed off. The operator spoke to him an, assured him. Gave some simple instructions and words of encouragement.

   Jack kept talking to the girl but she was unconscious and he knew this could mean big problems. Then he heard the welcoming sound.

I live in the UK and so all the places, expressions and descriptions are in English and the audiobook is read with my British accent. So for some of you this might be a different experience.

Here is an excerpt. The action gets really hot and steamy. You will love it.

   My name is Jim and I’m 47 years old. Divorced. No kids. Great Job. Money in the bank and in my back pocket. Don’t know if I’m good looking. I certainly look after myself and date plenty of girls: they seem to think I’m ok. I don’t think it’s just the money. Today I’m off the coast. Seen a nice little cruiser that I might buy. Always liked the sea and a small cabin cruiser that I could live on overnight and weekends would be great. Across to France too? I needed something big enough to take my motor-bike too.

   I’d come off the main road. I was having fun on this relatively quiet straight road away from urbanisation. Then this girl had just pushed her case out in the middle of the road and here we were.

   My thoughts turned to the girl. Good looker. Legs that seemed to go on forever. First thing I noticed as I got out of the car. Probably the last thing I saw as I braked. Slim shapely tanned legs. Her omg so short denim shorts were traditionally ripped and held up with a brown leather belt matching her open toes sandals. They looked expensive in direct contrast to her brown ancient, well-worn and tatty suitcase. It looked incongruous against her general appearance. She was fit.
